This special campground was just as good in 2009 as it was when we stayed here previously in March 2006. The sites are very well spaced and the trees have shown a lot of growth. Most people stay here for one or two nights while visiting the caverns but we liked it so much we stayed for 5 nights and used it as a base to take daily drives in the toad to different places like Sierra Vista, Fort Huachuca, Tombstone and even Bisbee. Reservations are not accepted but you will have a good chance of getting in during the busy season if you check in between 8-10am. Two traveler notes to pass on in the area. If you get off I-10 at hwy 92 to go to the caverns be watchful of your two choices of fuel. The Shell was $2.62 and the gas station across the street was $2.03. According to the clerk at Shell, there is always a huge spread in price. Second, Sierra Vista has just about anything you might need from supermarkets to retail stores (Walmarts, Marshalls, Target, etc) and virtually any type restaurant you could want. Kartchner Caverns State Park is a don’t miss place with an awesome cave and a terrific campground.

We only overnighted here but liked it a lot. The park is for 55+ folks, is clean as a whistle, has decent sized sites for an RV park, shrubs between the sites and has great free wifi. Nice people own/run this place. Would stay here again.

Terrific state park mainly because of the way it is run. A large number of volunteer/hosts keep it operating smoothly. The upper loop has some views but has no trees and could be subject to wind. The lower loop has more developed trees but the sites are a little closer together. The outside row of the lower loop has nice sites such as 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23. Good hiking and fishing is in walking distance. Beautiful Sedona is only about 20 minutes away. We are here now and will stay a total of 7 nights. Arizona State Parks has another gem.

I stayed at this RV park in 2006 and failed to review it on this site but should have. It is a really good overnight stop with bigger than normal sites, great free Wi-Fi, no road or train noise like the RV parks closer to the city, a very clean operation, friendly ownership and a really great bargain especially compared to the competition a few miles away charging 50% more than this place. It is also very dog friendly in that there are two big and clean leash-free areas for the dogs. I write this review from this RV Park and plan to stay here next time when we will stay for an extra night and fully explore historic Route 66.

We went out of our way to stop here because of past good experiences with almost all of Arizona’s state parks and in large part because of the reviews on this website. We were not disappointed. This is a good one. We planned to stay 2-3 nights but decided to take advantage of this park’s nice setting on a small lake, good sites(some with lake views) and great value. The daily rate is $16 but they offer 2 free nights when you stay/pay for five. So, $80 for a week equals about $11 a night! We are really enjoying our week here. About half of the sites are reservable which is a nice feature that not many AZ state parks offer. The bathrooms will probably need some refurbishing soon with newer fixtures and flooring but they are very clean.

This park is not as well managed as the other 7 state and county parks in AZ that we stayed at on this trip. Most of the sites are just average-to-not very good. Neighboring sites are frequently too close, either behind or beside. When campers fire up the campfire, the smoke fills everyone’s rigs. The best electric sites by far are 26, 24 and 22 which are really spacious, private and back up to the lake with a partial view. Only 34 of the 106 sites have elec and water, and people are aggressively seeking these sites every morning. Not sure if there are any workcampers or hosts because we never saw anyone ride through to check out the sites. Two vehicles maximum per site but a few people jammed 3-4 vehicles in their sites and nobody in authority questioned it. Some camper’s music blared during the day, which really needed a ranger to get them to lower the noise. The trees needed trimming as backing in to some sites resulted in branches scraping the RV. This is a world class area for birding and there seems to be a lot of fishermen enjoying this small lake as well as families enjoying the outdoors. Better management, more hookup sites and better site design are needed. We may not return until improvements are made.

Located east of the junction of I-17 and AZ74, this county campground is very, very nice with great sites, beautiful views and decent hiking trails. Get to this campground early as it is very popular and you may need to wait in the overflow area for a night or two in the Jan-Mar period. A 2-week limit is regulated but the county closes it’s eyes to snow birds who continue to re-up every two weeks. This crazy policy limits the options for travelers and visitors. Site 10 is terrific but 11 and 34 are too close together. Also avoid site 25 which is much too close to the overflow area. Only other thing this place needs to make it perfect would be sewer hookups although there are 2 dump stations which is pretty good for a campground of only 38 sites.

Very well run park. Very popular in Jan-Mar so get here early in the AM. Sites are assigned as they become available.Almost all of the sites are nice and big rig friendly with lots of room.No ground fires but there is a bbq grill. I've been travelling for 6 weeks on this trip, have stayed in 8 campgrounds and this is definitely one of the best. Good trails and bir watching. The views of the Catalina Mtns at sunset are great. Shopping of all types is available within a few miles, including a nice library facility. Ask at the check-in kiosk for info. Am exending my stay here tonight just to enjoy this nice place and all the things that there are to do in Tucson. Defiitely will stay here again.

One more good campground in the Maricopa County system. The sites are very spacious but many need a little work to level the rigs even with hydraulic jacks. The check in kiosk has info on where to go for laundry and food shopping but you have to ask. They don't hand out any info sheets. They didn't even know where to go to find free wifi. Re wifi, Mesa libraries don't let you get your email when using their system so there is no wifi option there. Good hiking trails as well as an archery and rifle range close by. Beautiful sunset views. I would staye there again but only if I couldn't get into Cave Creek.

Located north of Phoenix, this county park is another gem in the Maricopa County system. There are multiple loops some with hookups, some without. It’s a well run park that was virtually sold out every night in January, but the winds from the north were a problem 3 of the 5 nights we were there. Serious winds enough to keep boats off the water and seriously rock RVs are enough to figure out whether certain times of the year are worse than others. I would not return here in January even though the views are unbelievably beautiful.

This campground is quite remote being 37 miles from any services. Many sites had beautiful views of this lake. While it is a nice place for off road (OHV) vehicles, there are not any loud noises from these vehicles. Most, in fact, are quite expensive and well muffled. Over half the sites are quite spacious. There are some really nice non-hookup sites available really close to the water. I would stay here again.

No question this a good RV park, although site size varies quite a bit. Select a "premium" site for only a few bucks more. I'm only giving it an 8 because an RV Park this size should have free Wi-Fi instead of charging. The Wi-Fi also doesn't reach all parts of the park. This is 2008. Wi-Fi isn't a luxury, anymore. Also, they cut out the shuttle to the strip. Big disappointment since the full page TL ad promotes it.

This review is for Moraine Campground. We liked this campground better than Glacier Basin 5 miles away. This place is very well maintained. The sites are clean and the trees are trimmed for easy maneuvering into the site. There are some sites long enough for 40-footers such as #245 where a 42-foot Beaver stayed for several days. There are several other sites for larger rigs but not too many will allow slide outs. The roads around the loops are fairly wide and well paved. About half the sites at Moraine have descent wind protection. Rangers, park employees and camp hosts drove the loops regularly making this campground in Rocky Mountain National Park a good and safe place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the better parks in the Estes Park area. It is clean, quiet with gravel roads thgroughout the park. The sites aren't really deep but they are wide. Very friendly people run this RV Park. Excellent free wifi service. Satellite window best for sites closest to the river. Fishing and miniature golf for the kids is available in this RV park. It is sort of tacky to have a daily charge for cable and for dogs given the $39 off season rate. I would likely stay here again, mainly because of the wide sites.

This is a good State Park on a small reservoir. OK to fish or canoe. Hard working Rangers (including the head Ranger) are always present keeping the park clean and neat and disciplined. Excellent guided hike by Ranger Allison up to the petrified wood area. Lots of sites are unlevel but all are on pavement. Bigger units should request #20 and #13. Also, in the fringe season, the Camp Host site could be avail for surcharge and get electric hookups (need to ask when you get there.)

The best attributes of this park is that it is somewhat protected from Moab's winds, and that it is walking distance to shops and restaurants. The negatives are that the sites are too close together and short; Rvers are allowed to hang clothes lines; the handles on the dryers were broken and the dog area is awful. Think I'll try another RV Park next time I'm in Moab.

This small campground is in great proximity to one of the West's most awesome views. The view from Dead Horse Point is unbelievably beautiful both at sunset and sunrise. The campground has a few big sites. I like site #1 for size and privacy. Campfires were not allowed when we were there. Nice roof covering the picnic table. Outside storage provided. Must bring in drinking water. No water available. Dump station avail but no water to rinse hose. Despite the negatives, this campground is a gem. I would definitely stay here again.

Best park, with hookups, near Capitol Reef National Park. Sites are reasonable size but when an RV'er wants to have a campfire, it's too close to their neighbor. Good store and really friendly people. Great price for what you get. Wi-Fi is a little slow but it's free. The view to the North is really, really awesome especially at sundown. Ask for an end site like #29.

This park is so much better than parks closer to Colorado Springs. The sites are good size, the people are really friendly and it has a good proximity to a zillion scenic and tourist things to do. The "premium" sites up on the hill seem to be the best for big rigs and people who want even more space. We were in #83 which worked well for us. One other point, for people who want to overnight in a cabin on the property, this RV Park has some really nice small cabins available for one or more nights.

This review is for the Cottonwood campground of Rifle Gap SP. This cg has a base rate of $17 per night, but when you add the reservation fee through Reserve America and the State of Colorado's double dipping charge of an additional $6 per night a 3-day total of $80 makes this an expensive State Park. The sites are really nice especially #6. Shade covers over all tables. There is water and electric at the sites but no sewer. There is a good sewer dump, though. There is easy access from I-70, Rifle, Or. When in town, consider Mac's Cafe for free Wi-Fi. They also have a world-class cinnamon bun on the menu among other goodies. I would stay at Rifle Gap again.

There is more than one campground in this park. This review applies to Iron Creek which has the hookups. I think there are 45 sites. All sites are spacious. Many of the sites have 50 amp. Some have shade canopys over the tables. My favorite sites are # 41 and 22. If you have a boat and want to beach it near your site you could consider #24 and #26. Good fishing lake. Fabulous camp host at #14 who keeps an eye on things without being over present.

One of the better KOAs. Stayed in a site in the rear, up on a hill, and had a nice view. Sites aren't paved, but are a hard compressed rock material. Most sites level. Only a few miles from Bryce Canyon NP makes this an ideal place to see the Park. It's a better RV Park than those at Rubys inn, too. Spotless rest rooms and laundry. After doing the laundry, owner offered to drive my wife back to the site with the clean clothes.

Think this campground is only about 4 years old. My GPS couldn't even find it. Friendly check-in. Nicely laid out with good size back-ins and huge pull throughs. Sites 22-27 are high up with a 360 degree view. All 50 sites have a table with cover, BBQ and fire pit. OHV riding is allowed but only in an area away from the CG. There is a contiguous area of 16,000 acres of prime off-road riding. Boating, fishing, and relaxing make this a really nice place. Negatives are lack of any grass and it could be hot in the summer.

This is a park with great southwestern views, good trails for hiking and bike riding. However, the RV elect sites are closer together than the worst of any KOA sites. Picture side by sides on the hookup side and about 8-feet on the other. These are the worst hookup sites in the Utah State Park system. On the other hand many of the non-hookup sites are really nice and big and spacious. This is a 10 for none hookups and a 1 for hookup sites.

This park seems to get the extremes of the reviews. I think it's a decent park with wide spaces and except for the grass needing to be cut, it was in good shape. The location is convenient to major hwys and tourist things to do. Biggest problem as stated in a prior review is that the wifi doesn't have any range at all. I was within 150 feet of the office and barely got a signal. They really should invest in a tower.

This is a very nice park that is friendly to all size RVs. At $42 it's a little pricey for a mid Oregon city and the competition. The laundry room is really clean but they should invest in more washer-dryers. People were waiting both days that we were here. Site space is reasonable for a RV park. The breakfast and newspaper is a nice plus each morning. Safety and cleanliness is top-notch. Wal Mart, Costco, Safeway and Fred Meyer are all close by.

This state campground has the best sites of any campground in the Oregon park system. They are wide, deep with well developed shrubs between the sites. It is windy, here, being on the Cape but what a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the Lighthouse, the beaches and the quaint town of Port Orford.

This is one of the nicest RV parks on hwy 395. Site space is reasonable for a RV park, the management is very friendly and virtually all of the rv park amenities are available. There is a fair amount of shade given the desert environment. The views of the Sierra mountains are beautiful. Only negative is a really high fee for wifi at $7.95 per day. Thinks this park and others need to figure out that wifi is becoming a really big factor in selecting a rv park. Part of this selection process is not having to pay usury charges for what we think is important. Despite this, it is a good place to stay for days, even weeks.

Very good, well managed RV park with reasonably spaced sites and able to handle even the biggest rigs. They are building a brand new clubhouse which will be operational inn the Fall. There is a 9-hole golf course contiguous to the RV park that is in fairly good shape and a full complement of par 3, 4 and 5's. WiFi is available throughout 3/4 of the park. This is a good base camp for exploring Joshua Tree National Park.

Understanding that this place is a campground not a rv park, I gave it an 8. The sides are big, it has huge tables, a nice fire pit, TV stations of FOX, CBS, NBC and a few others but not ABC. Most sites have a "satellite view." The best sites back up to the water: 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,16; Next best sites are 2,4,6,8,10,12,14. Trains are not a real big problem in these sites. Good fishing and bird watching. $19 rate reflects a $2 senior citizen discount. We liked it a lot.

Reasonably spaced sites with some open pull throughs and some woodsy back-ins. We stayed an extra night because of the forecast of a tornado watch in the direction we wanted to head. The heavy rains came in a deluge and this rv park drained really well. The next morning there was hardly a puddle. The only minor complaint I have is that they charge $2 extra if you run your air conditioner. To me that's petty.

This was a good location that gave us reasonable driving access to the Antietam Battlefield and the historic city of Harper's Ferry. Owners, management and staff were terrific. There was a lot of fringe season construction going when we were there. This place is very nice and will get even better with all the improvements, including what appears to be a huge water slide going in. I would stay here again. Families will love it. One constructive note. They do offer wifi but you have to pay an outside vendor to get online. They should consider making it free like so many other rv parks are doing.

Ths is a very nice RV Park. It's clean, well organized, has lots of shade trees, reasonable spaced sites, level concrete pads, nice laundry and a pretty good free continental breakfast. If they made the dog run a little better with some grass and offered free WiFi instead f charging for it, I would have given it a 10. After looking at all the other Albuquerque RV options, we found this to be the best and at a fair price.

What a gem this place is. Desert camping in the middle of the 2nd largest canyon in the U.S. Huge sites with a wood canopy over the table. The sunsets are spectacular. The price includes $8 to get into the park and $20 for the campsite. If you're staying for more than a few days the price is less since the park entrance fee is a one time charge. This park is wonderful for hiking, bicycling or just relaxing and admiring the beauty of the desert.

The Johnson Branch of the Ray Roberts Lake is on the northern side and the sites seem to be better than on the southern side. The campground is as good as it gets with great, wooded sites in a wonderfully serene atmosphere, even if you're not boating. The $28 fee includes Texas' "enter-the-park" fee of $8.00.

Even though there are no hookups available or showers, this National Park campground 7 miles from Gatlinbug was the best "non hookup" campground we've ever stayed at. The sites are big, woodsy and many are on the river. Our river site was so very peaceful and relaxing. Fly fisherman, the sound of the roaring river and a campfire at night.

Local Tupelo residents will be upset when they see this review and more of the RV world reads about this great Mississippi state park. The sites are big, there are lots of trees and it's set on a small but pretty lake. Go to the Ms. state park website to see a few pictures. This is a destination place that's great for families, too. Your secret is out Tupelo.

After reading the previous rating, I'll be really generous and give this park a 5. The sites are narrow and are at right angles making it difficult to back in from a narrow road. The park is mostly permanents or semi permanents. The morning sprinklers sprayed water all down the side of my mh leaving water spots from a high mineral water. The only two positives were the friendly lady at check in and the fact that the park has lots of trees which could be a real advantage during the heat of the Mojave summer.

Nice, clean and new RV Park. Not too much in the ammenities and not necessarily a "destination/vacation" park but terrific for an overnighter or two. The price reflects the Good Sam discount.

In my view this rv park has more pine trees and a prettier setting than any commercial park from Flagstaff to Williams. The sites are a crushed gravel-type material and most are fairly level. It would have been nicer if there was a little more room between sites but none of the other parks are generous in this respect. New ownership needs to do a few things like add cable and do a little site grooming. Limited TV service can be gotten from an antenna but it's not real clear. The biggest negative is the park's proximity to the railroad tracks. The BNSF is very active along this stretch of I-40 and the engineers blow the train horn 4 times each time it passes by the area both east and westbound. We had a nice campfire amidst the aromatic pines in the evening. I would stay here again.

This park overrated as a 5. Many sites are really unlevel and not very long. Manager tried to charge me more than what my reservation had confirmed. Also, while they advertise free wifi, I was only 3 rows from the office and couldn't get a strong enough signal. This was disappointing becuse free wifi was the reason I picked this park. $34 was too much for off season rates.

We agree with previous posters that new mgmt seems really nice with big plans for the future. We also can understand that it's difficult to get everything fixed up from the previous owners right away. However, they really need to focus on three specific items. First, regrade the sites. They are too unlevel. Second, eliminate the side by side sites. There are two rows of the most crowded side by sides I've ever had to stay in. Since this KOA's wifi only worked in the side by sides we had to accept this crowded situation. Third, add a couple of extra towers so wifi can work in the much nicer, wooded sites further away from the office. When these three improvements are made it could get a 9 ranking, in my view.

This is a better than average public campground with the most spacious sites we've ever seen. Most are grassy and a lttle levelling is need in many. Our site was 75 feet by 75! Most others are 50-75 feet wide. We were there in a fringe season and the park was only 10% full but I think they might be full every night in the summer.

This is definitely the place to stay when visiting Wash DC. The park has everything including regular bus service to the Metro. The site price is the most we ever paid but we'd do it again. Also, they offer a dog walking service for a minimal cost. The woman who does this is a real animal lover and can be trusted to go into your RV to get the dogs and gve them a good walk.

We are at this RV Park as I write this review thru their WiFi system. The sites are very rustic with lots of trees and privacy. Not all sites get the WiFi because of the density of the trees. This small campground is not really a resort and the sites aren't all that level but it is very peaceful. Some sites are on the water and virtually all sites have a lake view. Really good fishing with a boat ramp. The bird-life abounds around this lake. Spokane folks like to keep it a secret. Now it isn't.
